We are a live lab where young people are trained and employed to create exceptional performing arts experiences.
Located in the heart of Holyoke, Massachusetts, our 40,000 square-foot arts complex is both classroom and workplace. Young people from diverse backgrounds work alongside industry professionals, gaining real-world experience in entertainment production, stagecraft, video production, and culinary arts.
When you come to an event at De La Luz, you're supporting economic opportunity and helping build professional networks for the next generation of creative leaders.
Through intensive mentorship and real-world projects, young people develop both technical skills and business acumen. Our approach combines:

Our poetic name has a lot of meaning for us. And it's fun to say! (Day-La-Loose)
Situated at the edge of Holyoke's vibrant "Little San Juan" cultural district, our 40,000-square-foot creative complex pays respect to the city's rich Puerto Rican heritage and its dynamic future. Here, young people from across Hampden and Hampshire Counties find pathways to creative careers while contributing to the cultural vitality of our community.
Our creative campus, acquired by LightHouse in 2024, unites education and enterprise. The complex houses two performing arts venues, our Technical Arts Institute, a café, theater program, bicycle shop, mini plant shop, and 8,000 square feet of makers space. This integration of learning and doing creates a unique ecosystem where young people can explore, create, and build their futures in the creative economy.
De La Luz draws together arts, education, and community resilience, lighting the way for the next generation of creative professionals while celebrating the cultural richness of Holyoke.
