Fresh off the release of The Bywater Sessions (April 2025), Grammy Award winner Jon Cleary brings his band, The Absolute Monster Gentlemen, to Holyoke for a night steeped in New Orleans funk and R&B. Recorded live in his home studio in the Bywater neighborhood of New Orleans, the new album captures what Cleary does best—real musicians in a room, playing together with grit, groove, and joy.
A British-born musician who has called New Orleans home for more than three decades, Cleary has shared stages with legends like Bonnie Raitt, Taj Mahal, B.B. King, and Dr. John. With his long-time bandmates Cornell Williams (bass) and A.J. Hall (drums), joined by Nigel Hall, Pedro Segundo, Xavier Lynn, and an all-star horn section, Cleary brings the unmistakable pulse of the Crescent City wherever he goes.
To match the sound, Chef Sara Barnes will serve a New Orleans–inspired menu, drawing on her years living and cooking in the city—expect shrimp Creole, red beans with andouille, okra fritters, and a sweet finish worthy of Bourbon Street.
